Things to do in Almyrida

Almyrida is little piece of paradise, and was declared a region of infinite beauty with its pristine golden sand beach and over 15 Bars and taverns all on the seafront. There is no need to hire a car, as everything is within an easy walk of the villa.

The beach is one of the best around. It has a pebble beach separated from the sandy beach by a rocky peninsular with a beautiful white chapel on it. There is a lifeguard on duty during the summer months. The waters are largely shallow so excellent for a quick dip. There is also an excellent snorkelling where you can spend hours watching the fish. There is a large rock pool ideal for younger kids.

Almyrida also has a water sports center which hires out and teaches paddle boards,kayaks and windsurfing. You will also find Cafe Franciose which is a fantastic cafe that does a full range of breakfasts, lunch and coffees. The perfect way to start any day. In the winter months we harvest the olives from the trees on the property and press so you can enjoy the olive oil on your stay.

Dive underwater caves & Elephant bones!

The 5 star dive centre is only 200m from the villa. It is an excellent center to learn to dive with very friendly staff. There is some great dives close by but the best is just a short trip to the Elephant cave. This is an underground cave with prehistoric elephant bones.

You can only enter the cave from underwater, its an amazing dive with Stalagtites as well. It was only recently discovered in 1999 and is a highly rated dive by divers.

Omega Diving Center is a PADI 5 Star Diving center it offers recreational scuba diving and courses for novice and experienced divers.

You will be in safe hands, My sister is an experienced diver but had not dived for years because she had lost her confidence. They organised a 1:1 refresher dive for her and really looked after her. The next day she was back loving diving again and did the Elephant cave.
